The River Mill, built in 1873, is located along the San Joaquin River in French Camp, California. Originally a processing mill for chicory to be used in coffee, it has seen many uses over the years. The current owner purchased the property in 1972 and in the early 90’s, after extensive renovations, began offering The River Mill for conferences, luncheons, dinners, special occasions and weddings.
As you enter the landscaped grounds, you are greeted with peaceful gardens, a walkway lined with roses, crape myrtle and a variety of vegetation. Eight raised beds, framed with brick, are filled with sculptured privets with white lights and seasonal flowers. Massive native oak trees add to the atmosphere and provide cool shade.
An open courtyard provides entry into the 18,000 square foot brick building with a variety of rooms for dining, meetings, social and dancing. The Roasting Room features an oversized masonry fireplace and tall barrel ceilings for indoor winter weddings, meetings, luncheons and dinners. The spacious River Room, stately La Bodega Coffeehouse, Board Room, Garden Room, Tasting Room and Winery each provide their own unique ambiance and features for your event. A second story balcony in the open courtyard overlooks a fountain in an alfresco setting.
