About The River Mill

Was built in 1873, is located along the San Joaquin River in French Camp, California. Originally a processing mill for chicory to be used in coffee, it has seen many uses over the years. The current owner purchased the property in 1972 and in the early 90’s, after extensive renovations, began offering The River Mill for conferences, social, business, special occasions and weddings.

As you enter the landscaped grounds along the walkway through the gardens, you will walk the path the bride takes on her way to the wedding ceremony locations. Roses and crape myrtle line the walkway and eight raised beds framed with brick are filled with sculptured privets and seasonal plantings, underneath massive native oak trees, landscape the garden areas.

An open courtyard provides entry into the 18,000 square foot brick building with a variety of rooms for dining and dancing. The Roasting Room features an oversized masonry fireplace and tall barrel ceiling for indoor winter weddings and spectacular summer receptions. The spacious River Room, stately La Bodega, Board Room, Garden Room, Tasting Room and Winery each provide their own unique ambiance and features for your event. A second story balcony in the open courtyard is the perfect setting for the traditional bridal bouquet toss to the future brides gathered below.

Our complete wedding package includes fully staffed use of the facilities with all the linens, table settings, wedding cake, candles, full service bars available, parking attendant, flowers for the ceremony, bridal party, family, toasting glasses, dining table centerpieces and fresh pieces throughout the building. Our onsite kitchen and staff offer you the choice of a variety of full service, food station or hors d’oeuvres menus or we can create a menu for you.
